Dhanaulti Top Hill Station in India

Dhanaulti is a small hill station near the popular hill station Mussoorie. It comes under the district of Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India.  It is located at the distance of 15 miles from the Mussoorie, blessed with beautiful hills, grasslands, water falls, and stream. Dhanaulti is an exquisite tourist destination located on high altitude of 2286 meter from sea-level. It is surrounded with dense alpine forest that gives reason to visit the place again and again. Dhanaulti is among the beautiful places to see in India, encircled with eye pleasing Rhododendron and Oak trees.

Places to Visit in Dhanaulti

Barehipani Water Fall: It is beautiful waterfall adjacent to the Dhanaulti which is the major cause of tourists here. The water fall has total height of 400 mts. This water fall is located inside the Simlipal National Park.

Joranda Falls: It is other water fall located in the heart of Simlipal National Park which has toatal height of 150 meter. It is considered the best destination for family picnic.

Dhanaulti ECO Park: It is the major attraction of Dhanaulti that make it one of the best places to visit in India. The Forest Department of Uttarkhand has developed two Eco- parks called Amber and Dhara with initially help of people around the Dhanaulti. There are many species of trees are preserved inside the park.  The parks were meant to protect Deodar Trees as there numbers have been decreasing in the reason. The park has entry fees of Rs 20 for Adults and Rs 10 for Children. There are small Eco huts are developed inside the park gives panoramic view of Dhanaulti.   Eco Park is full landscapes which are built by green technology.

Surkanda Devi Temple
Surkanda Devi Temple: It is one of the major Pilgrimage Places in India, having distance of just 8 km from Dhanaulti. The temple is dedicated to deity Surkanada, one of the names of Mata Sati. The temple is located at high altitude of approximately 2,757 meters.


Dashavatar Temple: This temple is dedicated to Hindu deity, Vishnu, built near the Gupta Empire. It was earlier used to be known as Panchyatan Temple of North India. There are three carved panels on side walls depicts Vaishnava mythology.

Deogarh Fort: It is the popular fort in India, comes under the Dhanaulti region. This fort was believed to be built near 16 century, called “partapgarh”. It is among the 52 forts of Indian State Uttarakhand as it is called land 52 Garhs (fort).


Matatila Dam: It is famous picnic spot in Uttarakhand, visited by numerous tourist everyday.  It is located amidst of Hills offers panoramic view of Dhanaulti. The dam also offers few water sports activities.
 
How to Reach Dhanaulti
 
By Road: Road is the best way to reach Dhanaulti as it is well connected by highways from major cities of Uttarkhand. Tourist can have buses to Dhanaulti from its near by cities like Rishikesh, Tehri, Dehradun and Mussoorie.
 
By Train: Rishikesh is the nearest railway station to Dhanaulti which further well connected through railway track to many major cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai, Ambala etc. Dehradun railway station is other option for tourists which also near to the place can have taxi and public private transport to the Dhanaulti from Dehradun.

By Air: Dehradun Airport Jolly Grant is the nearest airport to Dhanaulti located at the distance of just 83 Kms. Public and private transport is easily available to Dhanaulti from here.
