Coming to the history of Humayun’s Tomb, it construction was complete in 1572 after breaking ground in 1565. It was got built by the first wife of Humayun, Bega Begum to bury her husband’s body, which was buried at Sirhind. Considered as the first garden mausoleum in Indian subcontinent, it was designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas. Humayun’s Tomb is also the first monument to be majorly built in red sandstone. After capturing Delhi during 1857 revolt, British added several English styled gardens at the tomb. 1. Humayun's Tomb is one of the most visited attractions of Delhi. This tomb was designed by the Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and commissioned by the Humayun's first wife Bega Begum in 1569-70. I went there few months ago before going to enjoy my new york to charleston tours with my younger brother. This tomb houses the graves of many other subsequent Mughals.

  3. Nice post of your visit to Humayun's Tomb. As mentioned,it is one of the best places to visit in Delhi. The area covered by the tomb is very small as compared to the total area around it and there are many more monuments inside the garden. The architecture is breathtaking and needs to be explored minutely . For more information check the Humayun Tomb nearest metro station to have a hassle free visit.
